West Brom host Arsenal at the Hawthorns with the visitors knowing a point will take them to the top of the table for at least a couple of hours.
The Gunners are second to Manchester City on goal difference, but with Manuel Pellegrini’s side not playing Liverpool until the evening, Arsene Wenger’s side can put pressure on the Etihad side.
Since losing to Chelsea in September, the North London side have won five and drawn one of their six league matches but missed the chance to go top a fortnight ago when they were held 1-1 by impressive rivals Tottenham at the Emirates.
Despite a number of injuries, Arsenal will be confident of taking all three points; they have the best away record in the division (15 points from six matches) and have lost just once in nine Premier League trips to the Hawthorns (in 2005).
The Baggies have found it hard to find consistency but found two important 1-0 victories over Norwich and Sunderland in October to stop them sliding towards the bottom-three.
Tony Pulis’ side have been uncharacteristically leaky at the back at home, conceding 12 goals in six games, meaning they have won just once and lost four of their six matches in front of their own fans.
If they are to get anything from this encounter then they will have to tighten up all over the park and look to nullify the threat of Mesut Ozil, who has made the most assists (10) and chances (54) in Europe this term.
Gareth McAuley is suspended for the Baggies following his red card against Manchester United, but Chris Brunt is fit after a groin problem.
Wenger has said he will assess whether Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud are ready after playing for France during the Paris attacks.
Hector Bellerin is back after recovering from a groin problem, but Theo Walcott, who scored a first-half hat-trick in the last meeting between the sides, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey remain sidelined.
