Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be hoping to add to his squad before the transfer window shuts.

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic is the only player to have joined the treble winners so far this summer, with the Croatia international signing from rivals Chelsea.

Guardiola has also lost midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to Spanish side Barcelona, despite the German having played a key role as City won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup last term.

Now, though, it appears that a Ligue 1 star is keen on the idea of joining the club.

According to Football Insider, Paris Saint-Germain full-back Achraf Hakimi is keen on the idea of a move to City.

The report claims that the Morocco international is one of City’s top targets as they look at potential replacements for Kyle Walker.

Hakimi is reportedly keen on the idea of joining Manchester City

The England international is reportedly in talks with German side Bayern Munich, and City are therefore on the hunt for a potential replacement.

Hakimi, 24, joined PSG from Italian side Inter Milan back in 2021 and has since made 80 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists.

Despite City’s interest, Hakimi is contracted to PSG until 2026 and the report claims that the Ligue 1 champions would likely demand a significant fee to let the player leave.

It is also claimed, though, that City would be willing to spend big on a new full-back this summer, with Walker looking increasingly likely to leave and Joao Cancelo also facing an uncertain future.

Another option being considered by City is Bayern Munich star Benjamin Pavard, and the report claims that a deal for the Frenchman could be achievable as the German side are hoping to sign Walker.

Last year, Hakimi helped Morocco to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, beating both Spain and Portugal during the tournament.
