Queens Park Rangers have reportedly joined the race to sign Swindon Town star Nathan Byrne.

The Championship outfit, who suffered relegation from the Premier League back in May, are set to battle it out with rivals Burnley and Huddersfield Town for the winger’s signature before the close of the transfer window on September 1.

The 23-year-old, who began his career at Tottenham, has scored three goals in five appearances in all competitions for the League One outfit this season.

QPR boss Chris Ramsey has already bought two players from the Robins this summer, Ben Gladwin and Massimo Luongo, so he is hopeful of luring Byrne to join his former teammates at Loftus Road within the forthcoming days.

It is believed that Swindon would part with their prized asset for around £1m after the forward scored four goals in 49 appearances last term to help the club reach the League One play-off final.
