Queens Park Rangers are reportedly eyeing a £1m January deal for Premier League goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, according to The Sun.

The Championship side, who recorded their first win under new manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Rotherham United (0-3) on Saturday, have identified the Manchester United shot stopper as their number one target to replace Robert Green this month.

The 22-year-old, who is a former England Under-20 international, has failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Red Devils since joining the club back in 2009.

Johnstone; who is currently on loan at Championship rivals Preston North End, is wanted by QPR to replace former England international Green, who is interesting Premier League sides AFC Bournemouth and Watford this month as the Loftus Road outfit want to offload his big earnings during the January transfer window.
