Reading are reportedly preparing a deadline day move for Norwich City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

The Championship outfit are eager to bolster their attacking ranks after the departure of Pavel Pogrebnyak last week, despite the Royals snapping up Chelsea forward Lucas Piazon on loan earlier today.

Wolfswinkel, 26, scored nine goals in 40 appearances in all competitions whilst out on loan with Ligue 1 outfit Saint Etienne during the 2014-15 season.

With Royals boss Steve Clarke eager to wrap up a deal before Tuesday’s 6pm deadline, it seems the out-of-favour Canaries striker could be set for a second successive loan spell away from Carrow Road this term.

The twice capped Netherlands international cost newly promoted Norwich a club record £8.5m back in 2013 from Sporting Lisbon.
