West Ham have signed off on a Deadline Day move for youngster Reece Oxford, who has moved to Championship side Reading on loan for the rest of the season, the club have confirmed.

The Hammers defender, who impressed on the opening day of last season when he debuted in a win over Arsenal, is highly rated amongst fans in east London.

Those same fans will also be hoping that his move to the Berkshire club will be a huge boost to his development, considering he will be working under former Manchester United defender, Jaap Stam.

They Royals are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the Championship run in as the Dutchman looks to push his side back into the Premier League.

Oxford will be keeping a keen eye on his new side, who currently sit third in the table behind Brighton and Newcastle, when they take on Birmingham at St. Andrew’s tonight.
