Reading have reportedly tabled a £3m bid for League One hotshot Conor Washington.

The Championship outfit, who face Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup this weekend, are thought to be keen on signing the Peterborough United striker following the £2m sale of fellow forward Nick Blackman to Derby County earlier this week.

The 23-year-old, who started his career at non-league St Ives Town, has scored an impressive 14 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Graham Westley’s Posh this season.

Washington, who is also thought to be interesting Championship rivals Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, joined the London Road outfit from Newport County back in January 2014 for a reported £500,000.
