Premier League leaders Liverpool welcome rivals Chelsea to Anfield in an intriguing tie on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds have started the new campaign superbly under Arne Slot, winning six of their seven matches league games, and they currently boast a one-point advantage over Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Blues, meanwhile, have impressed in the early weeks of the new campaign and occupy fourth place at present.

Liverpool will undoubtedly go into Sunday’s match as favourites, but Enzo Maresca’s side will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Merseyside outfit.

Away from the on-field action, Liverpool are dealing with the uncertain futures of three key players – namely Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The trio are all in the final year of their respective contracts, meaning Liverpool could lose all three players at the end of the season.

Now, it appears that the manager of one of the world’s biggest clubs is pushing to sign one of the trio.

As per Football Insider, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is pushing to sign full-back Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold faces an uncertain future at Anfield

It is claimed that the Spanish giants are hoping to make the England international their latest ‘Galactico’ signing, following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe over the summer.

The reigning European champions have been linked with the 26-year-old for some time now, and the report suggests that they are likely to ramp up their pursuit of the defender following a long-term injury to Dani Carvajal.

Ancelotti is said to be spearheading Real’s pursuit of the full-back, who often plays in a midfield role.

Alexander-Arnold is a product of Liverpool’s youth academy and has now played 319 times for the club, proving a remarkable tally of 83 assists.

He scored a stunning free-kick to help England to a 3-1 win over Finland in the Nations League on Sunday, his third goal in 31 games for the Three Lions.
