Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their reported pursuit of Wales international superstar Gareth Bale, according to the Independent.

The Premier League side, who have slipped down to sixth place in the top-flight standings following last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Arsenal, have been continually linked with a mega money move for the Real Madrid forward this summer.

The 27-year-old, who has 66 international caps for his country, has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances in all competitions for the joint La Liga leaders so far this season.

Bale.

Bale, who arrived at the Bernabeu back in September 2013 following his switch from fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur, has netted 67 times overall for Madrid, lifting two UEFA Champions League titles, the Copa del Rey, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, the report suggests the Welshman is open to a move to Old Trafford ahead of the 2017-18 campaign, if Madrid decide to part company with the winger.
