Sunday could be a crucial day in determining the Premier League title race, with two key matches taking place.

Second-placed Liverpool host Brighton and Hove Albion in the earlier game and will move top of the table if they avoid defeat against the Seagulls.

Then, leaders Arsenal travel north to face reigning champions Manchester City, who currently sit third in the top flight standings.

Liverpool will hope to secure three points before the game at The Etihad kicks off, and will likely be hoping for a draw in the later game.

Off the pitch, it appears that one of Europe’s biggest clubs is monitoring one of the Reds’ most important players.

As per 90min, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The England international, who is currently sidelined due to injury, has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract and the Spanish side are therefore monitoring his situation at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold has attracted interest from La Liga leaders Real Madrid

The 25-year-old is a product of Liverpool’s youth academy and has made more than 300 appearances for the Merseyside club across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the best players in the Premier League.

Despite his importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side, the full-back is yet to sign an extension to his current contract, which is set to expire next summer.

Alexander-Arnold would therefore be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club in January, although there is no suggestion that he intends to leave Anfield.

The report also claims that talks between the two parties will begin once those in charge of the club have identified a successor to Klopp, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the current campaign.

It is also claimed that Real don’t currently perceive a move for Chelsea captain Reece James as viable, for several reasons.
