Real Madrid make first steps in an attempt to swoop for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to France Football.

It’s the news that so many Arsenal fans were hoping not to hear, but France Football have reported that La Liga giants are going to attempt to sign their star striker.

Aubameyang was absolutely vital for the Gunners this season, scoring a very respectable 20 goals across 32 appearances in all competitions.

Luka Jovic could be a big factor in this potential deal.

France Football have now reported that Madrid, lead by Zinedine Zidane have made an enquiry through an agent with regards to the Gabon international with a valuation of £40million.

But Arsenal are holding out for £60million, which could prove difficult with the 30-year-old entering the last year of his contract at the Emirates.

There’s also the added element of Luka Jovic, the Real Madrid striker who Arsenal have been linked with, who could easily be used as leverage to get the deal over the line.
