Real Madrid have reentered the race to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, according to reports.

The Spanish giants have been linked with the stopper, who previously played for rival club Atletico Madrid, for several years.

Now The Sun report that Los Blancos are readying a £70million bid to try and land the 29-year-old.

It’s claimed that the Spain international will move to the Bernabeu to replace current first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

De Gea only signed a new contract at Old Trafford in September 2019 which sees him earn a club-high £375,000-a-week.

However, the form of Dean Henderson on loan at Sheffield United means he could return to become the Spaniard’s long-term replacement.

Henderson is really impressing at Sheffield United.

De Gea has won the United’s Player of the Year award a record four times since his switch back in 2011.

But he has been criticised for a string of errors over the past 18 months, including one which led to Everton’s goal in the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park last week.
