Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard is reportedly waiting on an offer from Liverpool as he looks set for a loan move away from the club, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite impressing manager Zinedine Zidane in the Spanish giants’ International Champions Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain, the 17-year-old is set to spend a temporary spell away from the Bernabeu for the upcoming season to gain some regular first-team football, and a number of Bundesliga clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg, are interested.

Odegaard’s father, Hans-Erik, is understood to favour a move to Germany for his son, but the proposed teams could be reluctant to take on the midfielder’s estimated £1.2 million-a-year salary.

The alternative would be a loan to a club to work under a German manager, and the Denmark international and his dad could hope that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp makes a move, with the Dane previously spending time at Melwood before he left Stromsgodset as a 15-year-old in 2015.
