According to reports from Barcelona based publication, Diario Gol, Man United manager, Jose Mourinho and executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward held a ‘clandestine’ meeting with the agent of Real Madrid and Wales star, Gareth Bale in Manchester last week.

The reports claim that, should Cristiano Ronaldo remain the main man at the Santiago Bernabeu after this season, the former Tottenham star would be interested in a move away from the Champions League winners.

The Spanish publication claim that the Southampton academy graduate has not enjoyed being overshadowed by the Ballon d’Or winner since he arrived from the Premier League in 2013.

Diario Gol also claim that the move would be endorsed by the Wales international’s sponsor, Adidas, who heavily promoted the move of their other client, and the man who stripped Bale of his title as the world’s most expensive player, Paul Pogba.

The 27-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past, however, a move has yet to materialise. Although, with Mourinho keen to re-establish the star appeal of the Red Devils, it is something that could be possible.

The reports are currently purely speculative, but what do you think? Would the Welsh hero join Mourinho at Man United?

Would Bale Leave Madrid for Old Trafford?
