Marseille are back in for Steve Mandanda.

According to a report on talkSPORT the Crystal Palace keeper will be on his way back to France after just a season in London.

Mandanda made nine Premier League appearances at the start of the season but hasn’t played since Sam Allardyce took over from Alan Pardew.

The 32-year-old spent nine seasons with Marseille before leaving on a Bosman deal last summer.

There has been speculation that Liverpool and Bayern Munich have been interested in the keeper but it seems more likely that he will return to Marseille on a much improved deal.

Marseille are understood to be offering £2m for their former keeper with Palace holding out for £4m suggesting that a compromise halfway between those figures will be reached to complete the deal.

Allardyce is looking to make wholesale changes to the Palace squad with possibly two new goalkeepers coming in to a reshaped defence.
