Man United striker, Anthony Martial, has got off to a very slow start in the Premier League this season, grabbing his first goal of the new campaign against Stoke on Sunday.

According to reports from the Telegraph, the coaching staff at Old Trafford feel that the reason behind his poor form is his split from girlfriend, Samantha, the mother of his only child.

Coaches reportedly feel that the off-the-field issues are a big distraction and are affecting the Frenchman’s performances for the Red Devils.

Speaking after his side’s 1-1 draw with Mark Hughes’ Stoke at the weekend, Jose Mourinho said that the former Monaco man, who scored 17 goals in his first season in England, ‘needed that’ goal in order to get his season going.

The Portuguese will be hoping that now the milestone of first goal of the season is out of the way, the 20-year-old can kick on and get back to top form after the international break.
