Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has verified reports that Chelsea are keen on bringing ‘keeper Craig Gordon to Stamford Bridge.

Gordon has shaken off his injury problems at Celtic and has conceded just 14 goals in 22 games this season. It is suggested that the former Sunderland man is keen on a move back to England.

According to Squawka, Antonio Conte’s side are working on a deal to sign the 34 year-old before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.

Rodgers confirmed Chelsea’s interest, but reminded the ‘keeper that he owes his good form to the club: “He is a player that, with all due respect, when myself and my staff came in here he was a far cry away from what he is now as a goalkeeper.

“He has gone away and worked on how we want him to play and has got himself into the team and has been absolutely brilliant, first class.

“Chelsea have an interest in him but for any interest to be activated there has to be a valuation of the player that has to be met.
