Who do you think is the better player, Ronaldo or Messi?

This is a question that will live continue to divide football fans across the world.

But what about off the pitch?

These two superstars’ career performances also mean they are among the leaders when it comes to player wages too.

As stated in Forbes’ definitive list (published earlier this year), at the top of the tree is Lionel Messi, who earns the equivalent of £56.61 million per season at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, it’s PSG teammate, Neymar Jr, and not his great rival, Ronaldo, joins him on the same £56.61 million per year salary.

Ronaldo finds himself in third spot, earning £52.83 million per year at Manchester United.

Ronaldo has scored 12 goals in 16 matches since returning to Old Trafford.

However, if you were to include endorsement deals the Portuguese superstar tops the table with a combined grand total of £94.3million compared to Messi’s £83 million.

Just outside the top-three is Andres Iniesta. The Barcelona legend, who is playing in Japan with Vissel Kobe, reportedly banks £23.4million from his playing duties.

Not bad for a 37-year-old who’s won the lot in his career.
