Reports emerging over the weekend claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo has decided that he wants to leave Manchester United this summer, and there is now more bad news for Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

As per The Independent, the Portuguese is now willing to take a significant pay-cut on his current £500,000-per-week wages in order to secure a move away from Old Trafford, such is his desire to leave the club.

The report suggests that Ronaldo, 37, currently earns as much as £700,000-per-week once bonuses are included, but he is apparently willing to agree to a ‘considerable’ decrease.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals but endured a frustrating season during his return to English football

The player’s willingness to compromise comes after a distinct lack of potential suitors in the wake of his revelation, with several teams wary of the impact the player could have on their own style of play.

The ex-Juventus man is intent on competing for trophies and playing in the Champions League during what is likely to be the last few seasons of his career, something that he won’t be able to do at Old Trafford this year.

Chelsea are among the clubs being linked with Ronaldo in the wake of the news, with new owner Todd Boehly having met with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, in recent weeks.

Serie A side Napoli and German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also rumoured to be interested in the player.
