Coventry topped the table after thrashing Millwall 4-0 at The Den with two goals from Adam Armstrong taking his tally to four in all competitions, with former Tottenham midfielder Ruben Lameiras and Jim O’Brien rounding off the rout.

Two goals from Che Adams saw Sheffield United bounce back after a bad start last week to beat Chesterfield 2-0 at Bramall Lane.

Swindon came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Bury with Anton Rodgers grabbing the equaliser seven minutes from time.

Barnsley earned three points after an expertly taken penalty from Conor Hourihane for the Tykes saw them win 1-0, Paddy Madden got two goals as Scunthorpe won 2-0 at home against Crewe, and Walsall won by the same scoreline at Southend.

Port Vale and Gillingham drew 1-1, whilst Bradford and Shrewsbury had the same result.

Danny Philliskirk got the only goal of the game as Oldham beat Fleetwood 1-0 and, finally, Wigan drew 0-0 with Doncaster.
