Manchester United will be hoping to continue their strong form when they face rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have won their last three games across all competitions, most recently when securing a 1-0 victory over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Harry Maguire’s second-half goal was enough to earn all three points for Erik ten Hag’s side, although they did have to rely on goalkeeper Andre Onana to save a penalty deep into injury time.

Ten Hag’s side have endured a difficult start to the new season, but victory in the Manchester derby would undoubtedly provide a much-needed boost.

Off the pitch, the Dutchman has had to manage a public feud with winger Jadon Sancho, who hasn’t featured for United since August.

Sancho was left out of the United squad to face Arsenal earlier this season and, when Ten Hag cited his attitude in training as the reason, the player responded and appeared to criticise his manager on social media.

Sancho could move to Saudi Arabia in January

Since then the England international has been ousted from the first team at Old Trafford, with Ten Hag reportedly demanding that he apologises before being reintroduced.

He has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester in recent weeks, with his future extremely uncertain at present.

Now, it appears that Saudi Arabia is the player’s most likely destination if he is to leave United, according to The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell.

He claims that the player is most likely to move to the Saudi Pro League if he does depart United, despite attracting interest from several European clubs.

Sancho joined United from German club Borussia Dortmund in 2021 and the report claims that the Bundesliga giants remain interested in re-signing him in January, however they wouldn’t be able to afford his wages.

The Englishman is said to currently earn around £200,000-per-week at Old Trafford, ruling out several potential European suitors who wouldn’t be able to afford the player’s salary.
