Liverpool kept alive their hopes of a quadruple this season by beating Chelsea to lift the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

The two sides played out a goalless draw in 90 mins, and the tie looked to be heading for a penalty shoot-out before Reds star Virgil van Dijk headed in a winner seconds before the final whistle.

The trophy is the eighth of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at Anfield, and it is also the third time that Liverpool have defeated the Blues in a Wembley final since 2022.

For Chelsea, though, it was a sixth successive domestic cup final defeat and their lacklustre performance in front of goal has piled pressure on manager Mauricio Pochettino.

It may not all be good news for Liverpool, though, as one of their players appears to have attracted interest from elsewhere after an impressive display at Wembley on Sunday.

As per Football Insider, Scottish giants Celtic ‘would love’ to sign Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

Kelleher has attracted interest from Celtic

The 25-year-old made a number of impressive saves during Sunday’s clash, most notably when denying Cole Palmer from close range in the first half.

Scottish champions Celtic are set to be in the market for a new ‘keeper this summer after former England international Joe Hart announced he will retire.

Despite their interest, Celtic would likely have to spent a significant amount on Kelleher and may therefore be priced out of a deal.

Kelleher joined Liverpool’s youth academy in 2015 and has since made 37 appearances for the Reds across all competitions, with the majority of hif his games having been in the domestic cups.

The Ireland international is contracted to the Merseyside outfit until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but he may well look to leave Liverpool if he continues to struggle for game time.
