Chelsea have had a second offer for Everton forward Anthony Gordon rejected by The Toffees, according to reports.

As reported by Sky Sports, The Blues have failed with a second offer of around £45 million for the 21-year-old, who has impressed since establishing himself in Everton’s first team last season.

The Englishman made 40 appearances for the club last term, scoring on four occasions.

He has also played every minute of both of Everton’s Premier League games so far this season, and had a goal chalked off for offside against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Chelsea’s first bid, believed to be £40 million, was rejected by Everton over the weekend, but the Blues reportedly remain confident that they will be able to prise the youngster away from Goodison Park.

It has also been reported that Chelsea are considering including players in their next offer for the forward, as Toffees boss Frank Lampard has previously shown an interest in several Chelsea players including Billy Gilmour and Ross Barkley.

Thomas Tuchel is keen to add attacking players that suit his high-intensity pressing system to his squad, and Gordon has been identified as a suitable candidate to do exactly that.
