Arsenal return to action on Tuesday evening when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The Gunners enjoyed a weekend off as the FA Cup fourth round took centre stage, but Mikel Arteta will be expecting to see his side build on their 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace last time out.

With just two days of the January transfer window now remaining, Arsenal are one of several Premier League sides that are yet to make a single signing this month.

While that appears unlikely to change between now and Thursday, the North London outfit have a decision to make over the future of one of their current players.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato via The Express, Serie A giants AC Milan have approached Arsenal about the possibility of signing defender Jakub Kiwior.

Kiwior could make a return to Italy in the final days of the transfer window

The Polish defender joined the Gunners from fellow Italian side Spezia last January but has since failed to establish himself as a regular under Arteta.

Kiwior, 23, has made 24 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 16 in the Premier League.

So far this season the defender has featured 16 times, but has only started four of Arsenal’s 21 league matches.

He is seemingly behind the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu in the pecking order at The Emirates.

He has primarily operated at left-back since arriving in the capital, but the Poland international has also been deployed in central defence.

Kiwior’s current contract is set to run until 2028 and Arsenal are therefore unlikely to agree to sell the player, but a loan move to Milan for the remainder of the current campaign could benefit all parties.
