A number of Chelsea’s most senior players have already left the club this summer, with new manager Mauricio Pochettino overseeing an overhaul.

On Thursday Cesar Azpilicueta became the latest star to leave Stamford Bridge, joining Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard follows N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in leaving west London, although it appears that another star could soon be on his way out.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will hold talks with Italian side AC Milan on Friday with a view to agreeing a deal for winger Christian Pulisic.

The American joined the Blues from German outfit Borussia Dortmund back in 2019 and has since made 145 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Pulisic has scored 26 goals and provided 21 assists during his time with the club, but his playing time has decreased over the past couple of seasons.

Pulisic is a target for AC Milan this summer

Last term, he made 30 appearances across all competitions and started only eight Premier League games.

Romano claims that Milan are confident of agreeing a deal for the player in the coming days, but it remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea are willing to let the player leave.

It is also claimed that the player himself has personally asked his current employers to be allowed to leave, citing his desire to try a new experience and face a new challenge.

Last year negotiations over a possible exit for Pulisic collapsed, Romano claims, but it appears increasingly likely that he will now depart Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea have signed Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk in the past 12 months, meaning that Pulisic is no longer certain to be a regular starter under new boss Pochettino.

During his time in London, the USA international has won a total of three trophies including the Champions League in 2021.
