Manchester City forward Nolito is a target for Spanish outfit Sevilla, according to The Daily Mail.

The 30-year-old only moved to the Etihad Stadium last summer after a successful three-year spell at Celta Vigo, yet struggled for regular gametime under manager Pep Guardiola, earning just nine Premier League starts and only three in the Champions League.

And with just five goals in all competitions for the Citizens, the Spain international hasn’t shown enough to demand a starting berth, and has clearly been deemed a surplus to requirements by former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola ahead of a pivotal campaign.

So much so that the Manchester club are willing to allow Nolito a move away this summer, and reports suggest that La Liga side Sevilla are lining up a loan move for the forward.

The Spanish outfit, who finished fourth in the league this term, are soon to be taken over by former Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo, who managed Nolito at Celta for three years between 2013 and 2016.

And it appears that the 47-year-old is seeking a reunion with the 30-year-old at Sevilla, in a deal City will likely welcome as they themselves prepare a summer overhaul after a disappointing first season under Guardiola.

The Citizens finished third in the Premier League but were unable to win a trophy, Guardiola’s first ever trophyless campaign in management, and the pressure is firmly on the 46-year-old to deliver the goods at the Etihad Stadium next time round.
