Craig Shakespeare looks set to succeed Claudio Ranieri on a permanent basis and be offered a new deal at Leicester City according to the latest reports in The Independent.

The 53 year-old will be offered a deal until the end of the season after impressing the owners – not to mention winning over the fans and the players- with a brace of back-to-back Premier League wins since taking over from Ranieri last month.

Shakespeare took his squad to Dubai on Sunday for a  training camp and it’s reported the caretaker manager held talks on Monday with club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and Aiyawatt, his son, who joined the Foxes on the trip.

In the past two weeks Leicester have began to look more like the side which won the Premier League last season as player such as Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have rediscovered their goalscoring form to help move the Foxes five points clear of the relegation places.
