Norwich City defender Michael Turner is reportedly subject to interest from Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old centre-half has failed to feature for Alex Neil’s side since the Premier League newboys kicked off the new campaign, seeing him become deemed surplus to requirements at Carrow Road for the remainder of the season.

Turner, who enjoyed a loan spell with Championship outfit Fulham last term, scored two goals in 33 appearances last season during their promotion winning campaign.

The defender, who has also featured for Hull City and Sunderland, hasn’t played for Norwich since their 4-0 defeat to Blackpool last February.

Blades boss Nigel Adkins is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the close of the transfer window, but United may face stiff competition from Championship outfit Rotherham United for the 6ft 4in defender.
