Sheffield United to land Premier League midfielder on loan

Sheffield United are reportedly set to sign Leicester City’s Dean Hammond.

The League One club, who currently sit sixth in the league table following Saturday’s 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers, are favourites to land the out-of-favour central midfielder on loan.

The 32-year-old, who arrived at the King Power Stadium from Southampton over two years ago, has scored just once in 45 appearances throughout his time with the club.

Hammond looks set to be reunited with former boss Nigel Adkins at Bramall Lane after he helped the Saints win back-to-back promotions at St Mary’s from League One to the Premier League in 2011 and 2012.
