Sheffield Wednesday have been reportedly linked with a January swoop for Premier League forward Aiden McGeady, according to The Sun.

The Championship outfit, who defeated Leeds United 2-0 at the weekend, are interested in snapping up the out-of-favour Everton winger this month.

The 29-year-old, who has 76 international caps for the Republic of Ireland, has played just 45 minutes of first-team football for Roberto Martinez’s Toffees so far this season.

McGeady, who is keen to play regular football ahead of the 2016 UEFA European Championships this summer, is available for around £4m.

Former club Celtic are also believed to be keen on a loan deal for McGeady’s services.
