Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has shocked the club by telling Thomas Tuchel that he wishes to leave.

The 21-year-old has made his feelings clear to the club in the wake of the news that they are chasing Everton forward Anthony Gordon.

The Cobham academy graduate had already struggled for game time under Tuchel and, with the arrival of Raheem Sterling and possible acquisition of Gordon, his playing time is likely to see a further reduction.

According to Football Insider, the three-time England international has become frustrated by his lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge and is now intent on departing the club in search of more regular football.

Hudson-Odoi has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge

Hudson-Odoi made his Chelsea debut during the 2017/18 season and made 24 appearances across all competitions the following campaign.

His form has dwindled since then, though, and he started just 11 Premier League games last season due to a combination of poor form and injury.

The winger was also omitted from Tuchel’s matchday squad for Chelsea’s season opener against Everton, and was a unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Two years ago, The Blues rejected two bids for the player from German champions Bayern Munich, with the higher of the two believed to be worth around £70 million.

While the player would no longer command that sort of fee, he is still likely to attract interest if Chelsea do agree to let him leave.
