We’re turning the clock back to February 1980.

In his first two seasons at Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish had scored 56 goals to help the club win a league title, European Cup and European Super Cup.

Although the talent was there, it would’ve been tough to predict that ‘King Kenny’ would go on to play over 500 matches and win 28 trophies in his time as a player and two-time manager.

Forty years ago this month, the Scottish legend took time out bamboozling opposition defenders to take part in Shoot’s famous ‘Focus On’.

In the feature, the Kenny shared his best holiday destination, favourite singer, biggest disappointment and more.

Enjoy!

Shoot first hit the shelves as a weekly publication on August 16th, 1969 and quickly became the UK’s most popular football magazine.
