Largely underrated, the 23-year-old has come on leaps and bounds following his £8m transfer from Hull City last July, following a sticky start to life at Anfield.

The Scottish defender has provided two assists in 19 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, and has started the club’s last seven Premier League matches.
