Idrissa Gueye was second only to N’Golo Kante in terms of tackles made in last season’s Premier League, but he’s turned the tables this time round.

The Senegalese international moved to Everton from relegated Aston Villa last summer, and has made quite the impression on the Goodison Park faithful thanks to his midfield tenacity and brilliant ability to break up play and keep things simple.

This term, Gueye has made 101 tackles in his 22 Premier League starts, which is seven more than Chelsea’s Kante, who has incidentally played four more times than the 27-year-old, and 19 more than Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson in third.

Gueye’s incredible energy and work-rate would be crucial in this six-a-side team.
