It’s difficult to leave out French international defender Laurent Koscielny of this side.

Although the 31-year-old took time to adapt to the English game following his arrival in 2010, he has developed into a quality centre-back, who has on several occasions thwarted almost certain opposition goals.

Although he is still prone to the odd error, he’s the best centre-back of any on the books of both clubs, and rightly deserves his place in the heart of this defence.
