Both Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele have been excellent for Spurs this term, as has Oriol Romeu for Puel’s Southampton.

The Spanish midfielder spent four years at Chelsea earlier in his career but didn’t get much gametime at Stamford Bridge, and actually spent his last few years there on loan at Valencia and Stuttgart.

And that seems to have made him a more accomplished player, as he then signed for Southampton in 2015, and has been impressive ever since.

He has been the mainstay of the Saints midfield this season, and his fine ability to break up play and make copious amounts of tackles and interceptions gives him the nod in this side.
