Everton manager Ronald Koeman looks set to lock horns with his former employers Southampton over a deal for Sporting Lisbon defender, Ruben Semedo.
According to reports from Portuguese outlet, A Bola (via Sport Witness), both the Saints and their former boss Koeman at Goodison Park are interested in a move for the Portugal U21 international.
The 22-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at Sporting recently, supposedly has a buyout clause of €45m in his current contract, however, Claude Puel is lining up an offer of around €22m.
The centre half has made 25 first team appearances this season, including six in the Champions League and could be in line for a big money move to the Premier League.
Having lost captain Jose Fonte to West Ham in the summer and with the future of star man Virgil van Dijk up in the air, the southerners will certainly be looking to bolster their defensive ranks over the summer.
