West Ham and Southampton are in a race to sign Martin Braithwaite.

According to a report on talkSPORT the two clubs are ready to outbid each other to sign the Toulouse forward.

With Henry Onyekuru looking to be on his way to Arsenal, Braithwaite is being chased by both clubs as they look for increased striking options.

Outside of PSG, Monaco and Marseille there isn’t much money in the French game with Toulouse believed to be ready to sell as soon as the bidding reaches £8m.

Braithwaite is in his fourth season with Toulouse after being snapped up from Esbjerg almost as soon as he started finding the net.

With 11 goals from 34 matches the 25-year-old is less than prolific but with the stakes so high Premier League clubs are prepared to take a punt in the hope that they can unearth a striker capable of hitting a dozen goals in the Premier League.
