Southampton are reportedly eyeing a January move for £16m-rated FC Porto forward Juan Quintero.

The 22-year-old was loaned out to French side Rennes in the summer, and the South Coast side sent scouts to watch him in the Ligue 1 outfit’s 1-0 loss against PSG on Friday.

Saints manager Ronald Koeman is a long-term admirer of the Colombia international, who can play in a variety of attacking positions, and sees him as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane, who is widely expected to leave St Mary’s next summer.

Quintero, who scored for his country against the Ivory Coast at the 2014 World Cup, joined Porto from Italian side Pescara for €5m in the summer of 2013.
