Southampton are keen to make a move for Swansea winger Modou Barrow when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Saints, who will have to battle with Premier League champions Leicester for his signature, were reportedly interested in the Gambia international during the summer and will now reignite their interest.

Former Nice boss Claude Puel, who took the reigns at St. Mary’s in the summer after Ronald Koeman left for Everton, has supposedly been an admirer of the 24-year-old since before he joined the South Wales side.

The former Blackburn loanee, who made the move to the Premier League in 2014, has played in every league game for Swansea this season, but is yet to open his goal scoring account for the term.

The Saints splashed £11m and £16m on wide men Nathan Redmond and Sofiane Boufal respectively over the summer as they look to accommodate for the loss of Saido Mane, however, it seems that Puel is keen to add further depth to his wings as he looks to take his side further on all fronts this season.
