Frank de Boer has reportedly been sacked as Inter Milan head coach, according to Sky Sports (09:47am).

The 46-year-old, who succeeded former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini at the San Siro back on August 9, 2016, after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract, managed just 14 games in charge of the club – losing seven of those encounters.

De Boer, who was Ajax boss since 2010 before his switch to the Italian outfit earlier this summer, is set to be replaced by youth team manager, Stefan Vecchi, who will take charge of Inter for the club’s Europa League tie at Premier League side Southampton on Thursday.

The former Ajax, FC Barcelona, Galatasaray and Rangers defender leaves the San Siro outfit in 14th place in the Serie A table, following Sunday’s 1-0 away defeat to the hands of Sampdoria.

After 11 league games, Inter are already 13 points adrift of league leaders and defending champions Juventus.
