Southampton have completed the signing of Championship hitman Charlie Austin.

The Premier League side, who face West Brom this afternoon, agreed personal terms with the striker after Queens Park Rangers accepted an offer of around £4m for their top goalscorer.

The 26-year-old, who was called up to the England senior squad back in May 2015, scored nine goals in 16 league games for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side this season.

Austin, who was playing non-league football with Poole Town in 2009 as a part-time bricklayer, found the back of the net an impressive 18 times during his first spell in the English top-flight with QPR last term.
