After a fantastic 2014/15 season which they ended in seventh position, it has been a much more difficult Premier League season for Southampton this time around.

Ronald Koeman’s team looks to require a much-needed boost in January if Saints are to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle, but the Dutchman has confirmed that the only potential arrival could be a striker, and that will only happen depending on the fitness of Graziano Pelle and Jay Rodriguez.

One player that the South Coast outfit are understood to be watching is Vitoria Setubal striker Hyun-Jun Suk, with the South Korea international in fine form for the Portuguese outfit this term, scoring 11 goals and picking up seven assists in 19 matches in all competitions.

Saints scouts watched the tall attacker score a free-kick against Braga on Saturday, and could make a move for the 24-year-old this month with a number of other clubs, including FC Porto and Celtic, also said to be interested.
