Southampton and Watford are set to battle it out over the signing of Wales international forward Hal Robson-Kanu this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League duo, who currently sit seventh and 12th in the English top-flight standings after their respective Bank Holiday weekend action against Manchester City and Aston Villa, are both interested in snapping up the Reading winger come the end of the current 2015/16 campaign.

The 26-year-old, who has 30 international caps for his country and could feature for Wales at Euro 2016 in France later this year, has scored five goals and provided seven assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Championship outfit so far this season.

Robson-Kanu, who is out of contract at the Madejski Stadium this summer, could be available on a Bosman transfer after talks over a new deal with the Royals have been put on hold until after the European Championships.

However the report also suggests that Premier League rivals Swansea City are also tracking the Welsh ace, who would be able to offer him a top-flight transfer in his home country.
