Forster has kept an impressive six clean sheets in his eight Premier League appearances so far this campaign.

There is no disputing this decision – Southampton’s stand out performer last month was their key man between the sticks, Fraser Forster.

The 27-year-old, who has three international caps for England and is expected to be selected by national team coach Roy Hodgson this summer for the Three Lions’ participation at the 2016 UEFA European Championships in France, continued his terrific run of form until the very end of February to earn the Saints some crucial points in the Premier League.

Forster, who started his career at fellow English top-flight rivals Newcastle United, extended his consecutive clean sheet streak to six successive league outings by keeping shut outs against Arsenal, West Ham United and Swansea City respectively.

Despite letting two late goals slip past him in the 2-1 home loss to Chelsea last weekend; 6ft 7in Forster’s marvellous return to fitness and top form may well cause England manager Hodgson a selection dilemma concerning Joe Hart’s status as the Three Lions’ No.1 ahead of Euro 2016.
