Manchester United’s season went from bad to worse on Saturday as they were beaten 3-1 by Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils currently sit 13th in the Premier League table having picked up just six points from their opening five matches, and manager Erik ten Hag will be keen to improve his side’s fortunes sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, it appears that a Spanish side could provide Jadon Sancho with a route out of Old Trafford.

The England international is currently training alone having criticised Ten hag on social media, but La Liga side Barcelona could make an offer to sign him in January, according to Sport via FootballFanCast.

Sancho, 23, joined United from German club Borussia Dortmund two years ago but has failed to impress since returning to Manchester.

The winger had scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 matches across all competitions, but he has played just 82 times for the Red Devils.

Having been left out of the squad for United’s defeat to Arsenal a fortnight ago, Ten Hag appeared to cite Sancho’s poor attitude in training as the reason for his omission.

Sancho faces an extremely uncertain future at Old Trafford

Sancho responded on social media, and United then took disciplinary action against the player last week.

The report claims that United are looking to move the player on when the transfer window reopens in January, and Barcelona could make an offer to sign the player on loan.

The Englishman earns a reported £350,000-per-week and his current employers are therefore keen to get the player off the wage book as soon as possible.

At present the winger is contracted to United until the summer of 2026, but it appears extremely unlikely that he will stay put until that date.
