Spanish side Atletico Madrid are preparing a new deal for their Belgian star Yannick Carrasco in order to fend off any interest from Antonio Conte and Chelsea, according to reports from The Mirror.

Conte is supposedly interested in engineering a deal for the winger, who scored Diego Simeone’s side’s late equaliser in the Champions League final against rivals Real Madrid last season, which ended in defeat on penalties.

However, the red and white half of Madrid are keen to tie the Belgium international down to a new deal in order to dampen the former Juventus boss’ interest by adding to his £35m release clause, which was included in his original contract upon arriving from Monaco in 2015.

The 23-year-old, who has 13 international caps under his belt, has made 52 appearances for the Spanish side, bagging himself six goals and five assists along the way.

The former Monaco man also has two goals for Belgium to his name, one of which was scored in the Red Devils’ 4-0 thumping of Hungary at the European Championships.
