Tottenham Hotspur have made Djed Spence their sixth signing of the summer, with the defender penning a five-year deal.

The Lilywhites announced the signing of the player from Middlesbrough on their official website.

Spence, 21, already has more than 100 Championship appearances to his name having spent time with Boro and Nottingham Forest.

The full-back impressed on loan with Forest last term, playing a key role for the club as they secured promotion to the top flight for the first time in two decades.

Spence was one of the Championship’s standout players last season

Spurs boss Antonio Conte was keen to bolster his squad ahead of their Champions League campaign and the Italian has wasted no time in doing so, adding six new players to his squad.

Spence follows Ivan Perisic, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma to north London.

Speaking to the club in his first interview, England under-21 international Spence claimed it was a ‘dream come true’ to be joining Spurs.
