North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are leading the race for highly sought after Peterborough youngster, Leo Da Silva Lopes, with Liverpool and Southampton also monitoring his progress, according to reports from The Sun.

Scouts from each of the respective clubs were present to watch the Posh’s 3-1 win over Bury and were reportedly impressed by the contribution of the Portugal born 17-year-old.

Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino, is rumoured to be the favourite to land his target, with the League One side having accepted that they will lost their starlet sooner rather than later.

The former Southampton boss has a superb record with young players, having been responsible for a remarkable 11 England debutants since his arrival in the Premier League three years ago, and will be wanting to outwit his former club to bring in Lopes.

The midfielder has made nine appearances for Grant McCaan’s side thus far this season, picking up one goal in their EFL Cup second round defeat to Premier League Swansea.
