Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways with a superb 5-0 demolition of 20th-placed Southampton at St. Mary’s on Sunday evening.

Ange Postecoglou’s side went ahead within 60 seconds courtesy of James Maddison, before quick fire goals from Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski put the visitors in complete control.

Pape Matar Sarr then added Spurs’ fourth, before Maddison netted his second and Tottenham’s fifth before the break.

Neither side found the back of the net in the second-half, meaning Spurs move 10th in the Premier League table.

Postecoglou could look to bolster his squad when the transfer window reopens in January and, with that in mind, it appears that the North London side are chasing a Brazilian goalkeeper.

According to CaughtOffside, both Spurs and Premier League rivals Manchester United are interested in Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor.

Victor has attracted interest from both Spurs and Man United

The report claims that both sides are set to begin talks over a potential deal for the ‘keeper, who has alerted European clubs with his impressive form over the past few months.

Victor, 28, joined his current side from fellow Brazilian outfit Santos in January this year and has since been hugely impressive for Botafogo.

He played a staggering 63 times for the club during the recent season, as Botafogo won both the Brazilian Serie A title and the Copa Libertadores.

The former Brazil Under-17 international has become known for his abilities with the ball at his feet, often playing in a far more advanced position than goalkeepers are usually seen.

As well as Spurs and Man United, the report also claims that Turkish giants Galatasaray have shown interest in the player.

His current contract with Botafogo is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, and the report suggest that the Brazilian champions will demand a fee in the region of £7.5-8.5 million to let him go.
